Still undecided whether to have an eko roof or a tile roof? Read below to understand what you need to consider when choosing the best one for your home.
In addition to aesthetics, you should take into consideration the different functional aspects that we will discuss here. But… both will look amazing if installed by experts!
Ekoroof VS. Tile Roof: what should you consider first?
One key factor to consider is the climate you live in. For example, if you live in a rainy area, a tile roof might be best because it is water resistant. However, an Ekoroof would be best in a sunny and hotter climate like South Florida because it reflects the suns’ rays and helps maintain your home cooler. This is vital if you are trying to lower that FPL bill!
Another aspect to keep in mind is the roof’s height. If you live in a high altitude where it snows and rains, an Ekoroof would be best because of its resistance to snow and ice accumulation. However, if your home doesn’t get heavy precipitation or has low heights then tile roofs are best for this reason too!
Moreover, hurricane seasons should be a huge deciding factor. If you live in an area prone to hurricanes then Ekoroof is a good choice due to their durability and impact resistance. Ekoroof has been designed to withstand winds of up to 220mph, along with hailstorms and debris. It meets and exceeds Class 4 impacts when installed properly.
Lastly, consider how much you are willing to spend on your roof. Tile roofs tend to be more expensive than the Ekoroof tile. It is about balancing the benefits of your desired tile and seeing if it is worth it. You can always request an estimate from the installer before making your choice.

Roofing Maintenance Tips for Eko Roofs and Tile Roofs!
No matter what roof you choose, it is important to keep it in good condition by regularly cleaning and maintaining it. Here are some tips for doing just that!
Eko Roof Maintenance
One of the biggest advantages that Eko roof brings for homeowners is that it does NOT need to be power cleaned! It can be easily cleaned with warm water when needed and there is no need to use chemicals. Actually, any harsh chemicals may damage the surface.
Tile Roof Maintenance
Clean tile roofs with a stiff brush and warm water to remove any dirt, debris or algae. After a couple of years the roof might need to be power cleaned due to moisture that has accumulated on your roof over time. You can use soap if necessary but make sure you rinse thoroughly so it doesn’t harm vegetation below your home!
